Work in Progress on the PB Liftlock
For the Peterborough Lift Lock I want to make two glass pieces that are identical to represent the two lifts. To do this I laminated Styrofoam and carved out the shape I wanted. I then made a two part mould with just plaster so I could produce wax positives from the original Styrofoam piece.

I am now casting the one of the wax forms in plaster and silica to produce a mould.

This is the mould with the wax inclusion. The wax will be steamed out and glass will be melted into the void using a kiln.
Moulds
Glass is cut to size to fit the moulds. 17 pounds of glass each.
